I used to race bicycles for about 16 years. I gave up competitive racing when we started raising our family. Though I no longer race, I’m still a big fan of the sport.

A week ago, the biggest bicycle race in the world got underway. I’m talking about the Tour De France. Top cyclists from all over the world compete in this 3 week event. The event is the pinnacle for competitive cyclists everywhere.

So while I was watching the news on TV last week, they reported that a Tour De France competitor (shown at right) was disciplined by Tour De France officials for being on his smartphone during the race.

Now think about that…

The Tour De France is the top cycling event in the world. A cyclist competing in that event was using his smartphone while racing the event.

The fact that this top cyclist was on his smartphone during the race speaks volumes about the use of smartphones in our world today.

As it relates to mobile usage, I was browsing some articles this morning and came across this that I think you’ll find interesting..

* 90% of all U.S. citizens have their mobile device within reach 24/7.

* It takes 90 minutes for the average person to respond to an email. While it takes 90 seconds for the average person to respond to a text message.

* It takes 26 hours for the average person to report a lost wallet. While it takes 68 minutes for them to report a lost phone.

* The growth of the iPhone was 10 time faster than the growth of America Online.

And finally…

* In the U.S., the total time spent on mobile apps is greater than the time spent on desktop computers.

Since everyone is always on their mobile device, wouldn’t it be nice if you could leverage that for your direct sales business? Of course it would!

I have a few ideas how you can do just that. I’ll begin sharing those ideas with you over the next several weeks.

I believe that “mobile marketing” will forever change how you build a direct sales business. I think that mobile marketing is going to move quickly, and I think that the early adopters will win big, while the others wonder what happened.

Will that be you?

While on the topic of mobile marketing, is your lead capture page mobile optimized?

I ask because I’m seeing that about 62% of MyAutoPilot Traffic hitting my lead capture page last week was “mobile” traffic. Only 32% of all traffic originated from desktop computers.

Speaking of traffic, don’t forget the postcard offer we detailed earlier. It’s a one-time use offer. And it’s a great way to leverage your summer fun into summer profits. Give it a try today!

(In case you missed the postcard offer, it’s shown at right.)

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!

To your success,
