It seems that my email of last Friday confused some people. I had several emails in my inbox that read like:
“..why do you want me to send a text to this person?”
“..I didn’t send any text to anyone. Who said I did?”
“..I don’t know why you’re sending this email to me. I’m not texting anyone.”
So what was intended to be a “tongue in cheek” comment about me sending you a lead ended up causing confusion with some readers.
Just so we’re clear, I was sent the spam text message you see at right. If you want to prospect that number via text, that’s up to you.
The takeaways that I wanted to convey in that newsletter were two-fold:
1) Only send permission-based text messages. Always ask for permission to send the other person information about your business. Better yet, invite them to ask you for more information.
If this is a purchased lead or lead you generated using MyAutoPilot Traffic, leave the prospect a voicemail message asking them to text you at your phone number if they would like to know more about what you do and your business.
2) Don’t send text messages to people you don’t know. If you blindly send text messages to people you don’t know, they’ll consider your text as a spam text message.
I had a client call-in asking for a list that they could use to send out a text blast. Wrong! Please don’t do this. It will ruin a good thing for everyone.
