Salespeople can often face rejection, thereby making it tough to stay positive and upbeat.  Here's a few ways you can maintain your enthusiasm and keep upbeat:

  • Begin to act enthusiastic and then you will feel enthusiastic
  • Phone a satisfied client to get a much needed lift
  • Hang out with enthusiastic people.  Stay away from complainers
  • Set achievable short range goals for yourself then celebrate when you achieve them

Have you ever had someone ask you the dreaded "Pyramid" question:

"Is this one of those pyramid things"?

Or perhaps:

"Oh, is this like Amway?" (A great company by the way.)

When you get a question like that, how should you answer?

There are MANY choices you have to that age old question. Here are just a few of my favorite:

"Oh, you mean like the company you work for where there is a CEO, President, Vice President, Management, Clerical staff, Mailroom staff, etc? Why in the world would you want to be at the bottom of someone else's pyramid when you could be at the top of your own?"

Or this simple reply:

"Oh, are you looking for a pyramid? Because those are illegal and you could go to jail. No, I wouldn't be involved with a pyramid". (Then go on with your presentation.)

OR finally:

"Tell ya what, I'll tell you what I do and you can call it whatever you want. Fair enough?" (Proceed with your presentation.)

Here's a great reply to the "Amway" question:

"Amway? Oh.... no. We're not quite as big as Amway yet. But we're working on it!" (Smile then proceed with your presentation.)

Feel free to use any of these responses next time you're asked by friends, families or prospects.

When you call your leads, many times you will get an answering machine. There are different thoughts on leaving messages. Some people do, some don't.

I personally leave messages do leave a message. I figure if I am going to take the time to dial the phone, I am going to leave a message.

Here is a message you can leave. If you use the proper 'posture', SOME (never ALL) of the people will call you back !

This first message works BEST IF you use the proper voice inflections:

Do not take your voice UP, take it DOWN at the end of a statement (up is sales-like; down is business like). I don't mean a low voice, I mean a downward inflection verses bringing your voice up at the end of a statement.

Also when leaving THIS particular message, do NOT say anything after you leave your number. Simply hang up the phone after you have given your phone number.

Change nothing in this message.  Be firm but not rude. If done properly, the message will peak curiosity and get prospects to call you back.  Give it a try next time your calling your MLM Leads.
